My name is Gabrielle Marlow. I was born in the Netherlands, brought up in Singapore and Tanzania, lived in England before migrating to Australia in 1992.

I have always been drawn to landscape painting and through meditation a deep connection and love to this land, Australia has been established.  Meditation helps to feel the creative force that lies within every living thing, weather it is landscape, or flora, or fauna.  It is my sincere wish that this love of nature is expressed through my paintings and that it creates an uplifting emotion in  the viewer.

I enjoy painting any subjects especially equine art and animal portraits. These are generally painted in oil, although   colour pencil, black and white pencil as well as water colour are also suitable for this type of detailed work.

If you like my work and would like to commission a painting of your favourite landscape, flower, garden or animal portrait  please go to CONTACT. I am able to work from your photographs.  I look forward to hearing from you through email or a phone call regarding any paintings you would like me to do for you.

While I am primarily self-taught,  part-time study at Julian Ashton Art School has helped polish my skills. The Heidelberg painting technique which I incorporate in my work has been taught to me by one of Australia’s best known landscape artists. To improve on the animal portraiture, a Diploma of Pet Portraiture was completed at the London Art College with a high distinction. As a result of combining these my style is a combination of fine art and impressionistic painting.

Most of my work is commission based so I haven’t felt the need to exhibit widely.
